Prescribing Services (Minor Ailments)

Effective January 1st 2023, Ontario Pharmacists may prescribe for the following Minor Ailments.

Digestive Conditions

  • Pinworms and Threadworms
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Heartburn
  • Nausea in Pregnancy

Ear, Eye and  Mouth

  • Canker Sores
  • Pink Eye or Eye Allergies
  • Allergies
  • Oral Thrush
  • Cold Sores

Skin Conditions

  • Skin Infections ( Impetigo)
  • Skin Irritations (Dermatitis)
  • Insect Bites and Hives
  • Acne
  • Diaper Rash
  • Tick Bite-Lyme Disease Prevention

Urinary and Reproductive Conditions

  • Vaginal Yeast Infection
  • Urinary Tract Infection
  • Menstrual (Period) Cramps

Other

  • Muscle Strains or Spams

 

This service is by appointment or walk-in and prior online registration is required.  Please note, registering for this service does not guarantee a prescription.

Your pharmacist will assess if they can prescribe a treatment option or if a referral to a physician may be necessary.
